Ian Wright dropped a bombshell after revealing he feels "uncomfortable" over the way Gabriel Martinelli is being treated at former club Arsenal.
Martinelli was left out of the Arsenal squad for the Community Shield win over Manchester City and was also absent for the Premier League season opener against Coventry City.
The reigning champions kicked off the new campaign with a 3-0 win over newly-promoted Coventry City, with Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard all on target.
New signing Christos Tzolis was handed a first Premier League start and impressed on the left flank, with Martinelli seemingly surplus to requirements even after the departure of Leandro Trossard.

Martinelli has been heavily linked with a number of clubs in Europe, including Juventus and Galatasaray.

But after the win over Coventry at the Emirates on Friday night, Gunners legend Wright hit headlines after claiming the Brazilian is being left in limbo without any communication from the club.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Wright said: "The way Gabriel Martinelli is being treated at the moment, it really makes me feel uncomfortable because always gives 100 percent.
"I'm not saying he's the greatest but he's come up with some big moments for Arsenal and he’s scored some very important goals.
"The way he's been treated at the end here, I know they might want him out and there's a lot of people that might say it's time for him to move on but there's ways of doing that and it should suit him as well.
"He’s not being spoken to, he doesn’t know what’s going on - I know this. I think he's got a year left.
"For him to be nowhere near it, it just makes me feel a bit sad for him."
"I’m just saying I think he’s done enough with this team, with this squad, to be treated with a little bit more respect than he’s being treated at the moment."
Mikel Arteta wants Premier League rule changed after Gabriel Martinelli omission
New £85 million signing Bruno Guimaraes was unable to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal after picking up a groin injury.
That meant that Ethan Nwaneri was handed a place on the substitutes' bench but Martinelli was overlooked, along with compatriot Jesus.
A report from AS states that Premier League clubs Everton and Ipswich have both shown interest in the former Man City striker, who would prefer to remain in England.
He is also believed to have attracted interest from Serie A side Napoli.
Speaking after the Community Shield, Arteta told TNT Sports that the pair were still "very important" for Arsenal and even revealed he is "fighting" for the Premier League to increase matchday squad size.
Currently clubs in the English top flights are allowed nine subs but Arteta has been vocal about wanting a 23-man squad for each game.
He explained: "It's really sad not to have their ability. I have been fighting with the Premier League to extend [the squad], to accommodate more players.
"It's always tough. They deserve to be in the squad, there is no question. Ethan [Nwaneri], as well. Marli [Salmon], as well, has had a hot preseason with us.
"Hopefully we can change that rule, and players can be an option to play, and contribute to the team as much as possible."
